The new release of android lollipop is right now available for only few mobile models and some Nexus Tabs. Make sure you have Android Kitkat 4.4.* as the operating system. Only then you can upgrade to Android Lollipop OS.
Most of the supported device will get the new version of the android OS within this year, as per google. I am using Moto X so I guess I will be the among the first one to get the upgraded OS.

- Make sure you have WiFi connection on.
- Go to the setting option of your mobile which looks like a gear.
- Then go to the "About Phone" option.
- Here you can find the "System Update" Option.Click it.
- Check for updates there.
- And if the update is available it will start the download.
Caution:
Always back up your data and apps before the upgrade.
